Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, and BasicMed Flight Physicals

FAA Flight Physicals in Manhattan, Kansas

Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, and BasicMed Aviation Medical Exams can be performed by Bradley K. Harrison, MD (a Private Pilot himself) who is listed on the FAA website as an approved Senior/HIMS Aviation Medical Examiner. Airmen who need medical examinations will need to access the FAA MedXPress website and receive their confirmation number when scheduling an appointment.  Flight physicals are offered at both locations: Grand Mere (inside Concierge Med Lounge) as well as Manhattan Regional Airport.

Before your appointment:

  1. Start your online examination at the FAA MedXPress website.

  2. Write down or print your MedXPress Confirmation Number (confirmation number is good for only 60 days).

Day of Flight Physical

  1. Please show up 30 minutes prior to your appointment (if you arrive early to the Airport clinic, for privacy reasons please have a seat in the waiting room).

  2. Please bring the following to your physical:

    • Government Issued Photo Identification (driver’s license, passport, etc).

    • Payment with cash, check, or credit card.

    • Two pairs of glasses (if applicable) for vision exam.

    • You will have a urinalysis (urine test) performed.

  3. Any applicant with a previous Special Issuance should bring their special issuance paperwork with them to the examination.

  4. If you have had any correspondence with the FAA please bring all FAA paperwork with you.

Length of Certification

First Class (Air Transport Pilots-ATP): Every 12 months if younger than age 40, every 6 months over age 40

Second Class (Commercial Pilots): 12 months

Third Class (Private/Student Pilots): 5 years if younger than age 40, 2 years if over age 40
